Prints designed using Kaledo Print software, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

“5th Avenue”- my submission for a design brief, presented to us by the Amanda Kelly Design Studio in London-

Assignment- create a marketable series of digital prints for a brand of my choice, using trends to predict what might be popular in the upcoming fashion seasons.

This collection was designed based on runway trends and color forecasts for S/S 23, and made for Coach. My goal was to create a line of classic prints with a more modern day twist. It was also largely inspired by the wave of maximalism currently hitting the fashion industry post-pandemic.

Memphis Milano inspired prints- This series of prints and colorways was inspired by the Memphis design movement from the 80s. Shapes and colors from a previous study of my own photographs (found in the “textiles” page on my site) were used to create prints that mimicked the maximalist and vibrant feel of “Memphis”.

Custom Mask Print for Columbia College Chicago- this print was a commission for a branded mask design for Columbia College. The masks were mass produced and given away to their incoming freshman class as well as those visiting campus for tours etc. Two print designs were presented, one with three color way options. The cityscape design in the first color way option was selected, and is currently under a licensing agreement between Maria and Columbia College Chicago. The print features iconic Chicago landmarks and buildings as well as the Chicago flag and Columbia’s logo.

Colorways assignment- Spring Fashion was inspired by the faces of Chicagoans trying to stay safe during the Coronavirus outbreak.

“Joy” prints (Senior thesis collection)- These prints were directly inspired by pieces of jewelry from Juju’s Vintage Antique and Resale.
