Lavish Lounge- 2020

(Application submission for a graduate program at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC- I was accepted to the program and ultimately chose an international school.)

Lavish Lounge is a prediction of how the fashion industry will look as it recovers from the Coronavirus Pandemic. As the world moves to remote learning and working from home, pajamas will no longer be acceptable attire. Employees and students will be expected to continue to put their best foot forward and appear professional on zoom calls. This collection is meant to be the solution to wanting to look put together but also stay in pajamas. The fabrics are all luxurious knits, neoprenes, and soft textures that mimic the feel of loungewear. It focuses on surface embellishments and unique textiles rather that intricate tailoring because the fit is less noticeable through video calls. Finally, the neutral color palette is meant to be calming and comforting to the wearer. Navigating life through a pandemic is incredibly stressful, and softer colors are less aggressive. Luxury loungewear will be the next big market in the fashion industry, and this collection is the first of its kind.
